■ What is thermal fogging sterilization? (Thermal fogging)

Heating thermal fogging transports pesticide grains by smoke generated sprayed from sprayers' mouth in compression when solution in pesticide diluted in petroleum or light-oil passes through during ultimately short time of 4/100 seconds at ignition point at high heat. (About 400 ~ 600 degrees) Pesticide grain size produced at this time is 10 micron and relatively large grain is transported to nearby and the smaller the grain, the farther away it is transported. Maximum effective distance is about 12m in case of portable thermal fogging sterilization machine.

■ Principle of thermal fogging sterilization

(1) Using principle of Pulse Jet engine, a certain quantity of gasoline is delivered to
......combustion room in the carburetor.

(2) Combustion room equipped with Grow Coil generates a certain amount of high
..... heat and compression in a continuous explosion.

(3) High heat and compression spray pesticide ejected from tank through heat pipe
..... by making it an aerosol through heat pipe via pesticide spray nozzle.

■ Effect of thermal fogging sterilization

(1) Since grain is smaller than spray, mist, and aerosols, airborne time becomes
..... longer and permeates into deep corners, where other spray methods cannot
..... reach, and has a high insecticide effect by killing hidden noxious insects.

(2) Space spray sterilization effect: Heating thermal fogging is one space spray
..... method for terminating noxious insects. In space spray, there are ULV spray,
..... aerosols, mist spray, indoor aerosols, and heating thermal fogging and per spray
..... device, final size of pesticide grain is different. In case of mist spray, ULV is 1 ~ 50
..... micron and aerosol is mostly between 0.1 ~ 4 micron compared to 50 ~ 100
..... micron and is used mainly indoors. However, heating thermal fogging is mainly
..... used outdoors between 0.1 ~ 30 micron and optimum grain size is 10 ~ 20 micron
..... and in case of mosquito, if it is hit by 1~2 of 10 micron and in case of housefly, if it
..... is hit by 1~2 of 20 micron, they are killed before 24 hours. For example, 1g of
..... pesticide is about 30 drops in 4,000 micron and if it is divided in 40 micron, it
..... generates about 3 billion grains and if it is divided into 4 micron, it generates
..... about 3 billion grains and it can become a more effective spray method. However,
..... grain size less than 0.01 micron does not exercise insecticide effects as it is
..... dismantled or dispersed in the air before reaching noxious insects.

■ Characteristics of thermal fogging sterilization

Characteristics of effects of heating thermal fogging transport pesticide grain to crevices of narrow spaces on backside of leaves where the mosquito hides for 3~4 days after sucking blood and touch the mosquito, but on the contrary, in the case of general spray, it reaches the front side of leaves but cannot reach the backside.

Because of this reason, only heating thermal fogging can kill hiding mosquitoes in animal barns because mosquitoes that have sucked blood from cow or pigs hide for 3~4 days.

The most important advantage of the current heating thermal fogging is that pesticide grains can permeate into forests and backsides of leaves where mosquitoes are hiding, for extermination and it is an absolutely necessary space spray method in regions where currently malaria is in epidemic because heating thermal fogging can effectively and most easily exterminate young imago resting right after hatching from chrysalis in or near places of generation sources of mosquito.

■ Timing for thermal fogging sterilization

During daytime, because of heat of the earth, heat of the sun, and air circulation, there is no insecticide effect as grain is dispersed into the sky.

Therefore, the ideal time is between 7:00pm ~ 9:00pm in the evening when noxious insects (mosquito, Chironomidae, biting midge) are active.

As noxious insects are after actions or hiding in the morning, smoke transports pesticide grain to hiding places to touch for extermination. Size of the most pesticide grain of heating thermal fogging is 10 micron and at 30m distance, size less than 10 micron drops a lot and the smaller grain is transported long distances floating in the air.

If we presume most grains are 10 micron, we can estimate that 1 milliliter of pesticide sprays 120 million grains and exterminates mosquito and fly by touching.

■ Methods of thermal fogging sterilization

(1) Mix petroleum (or light-oil) and pesticides in a ratio of 70:1 in general.

(2) Pesticides shall definitely mix only pesticide for thermal fogging sterilization.
..... (Definitely use only "pesticide for thermal fogging sterilization.")
     - It is indicated on pesticide container whether it is mixed with water or with
.....petroleum. (Or light-oil) If you mix petroleum (or light-oil) in pesticides for
.....general spray, on the same principle that water and oil is not mixed; it has no
.....pesticide effect because pesticide and light-oil is sprayed in separation.

(3) While walking at normal walking speed (3~4km per hour) about 4~5m in front of
..... spraying area, spray by adjusting quantity with pesticides valve attached in front of
..... spray machines.
..... * According to foreign literature, in kerosene, about two times the (200%)
..... insecticide effect than light-oil was confirmed and also it was confirmed that
..... heating thermal fogging has more superior insecticide effect or the same effect of
..... non-heating aerosols. (Mosquito News. 1972. 1968. 1954) In heating thermal
..... fogging effect experiment in Korea , it was confirmed that 30% ~ 40% more
..... superior effect in kerosene for boiler than light-oil.
